With Ford leading the charge into electrification, it’s safe to say that the Blue Oval is as influential now as it ever has been. TIME is backing that up, naming Ford to its second TIME100 Most Influential Companies list.
Not surprisingly, electrification was a key reason why Ford made the cut and scored a place among the world’s most innovative businesses.
“Ford’s approach, under CEO Jim Farley: electrify some of its most popular models, like the F-Series, long America’s best-selling pickup,” writes TIME’s Kyla Mandel. “And it’s working — demand for the all-electric F-150 Lightning helped push Ford’s market value over $100 billion for the first time in January.”
Last month, Ford launched production on the long-awaited, mega-popular F-150 Lightning. The first electric truck in Ford history, the F-150 Lightning brings the power and capabilities drivers love and expect of the F-150 and mixes it with an impressive EPA-estimated range and innovative technologies like BlueCruise and Ford Intelligent Backup Power.
Clearly, Ford has a hit on its hands. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning commanded more than 200,000 reservations, which means it’s already on its way to being one of the most successful EVs ever made. But there’s more to Ford than even the incredible F-150 Lightning that makes it a TIME100 Most Influential Company. From the 2022 North American Truck of the Year™ Award-winning Maverick to the adventure-ready Bronco Sport and Bronco, you can’t miss with the Ford lineup.
